The provenance question
Who makes your hyperbaric chamber?
You are about to spend anywhere from fifteen thousand to a hundred and seventy thousand dollars on a pressure vessel that people will sit inside. It's worth knowing who built it. Most hyperbaric brands don't. They select from a catalogue, choose a colour, add a logo, and ship. That's a legitimate business, but it means nobody at the company you're buying from has ever seen your chamber being welded.
These six questions tell you which kind of company you're dealing with. They work on us too.

FAQ
Common questions
Do most hyperbaric brands make their own chambers?
No. Most select from a manufacturer's catalogue, choose finishes and branding, and sell the result under their own name. That's legal and common, it just means nobody at that company has seen your chamber being built.
Are most hyperbaric chambers made in China?
A large share of the market is, across price points and across brands, including some that don't say so. Country alone tells you little. What the seller controls, documents and is accountable for tells you a lot.
What is a white-label hyperbaric chamber?
A chamber built by one company and sold under another company's brand, with no specification input from the seller. The buyer's contract is with a marketing company, not with anyone who touched the vessel.
How can I tell if a hyperbaric company is the real manufacturer?
Ask for the build record of the specific chamber you're buying. Manufacturers have one per vessel. Resellers have a purchase order and a brochure.
What certifications should a hard-shell hyperbaric chamber have?
For the pressure vessel, ASME PVHO-1, verified independently of the seller. ASME publishes a public directory of certificate holders, so factory claims are checkable. CE, UKCA and ISO 13485 cover the device and the quality system.
Does an FDA clearance mean a chamber is better built?
It means it cleared a specific regulatory route for a specific intended use. It is not a substitute for pressure-vessel documentation, and a chamber can have one without the other. Ask for both.
